Magnificent sea of clouds engulf mountains in NW China

A stunning sea of clouds was filmed flowing over mountains in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Shaanxi Province on March 17.

Affected by recent rainy weather and temperature changes, the water vapor turned into clouds and mist, forming a boundless sea of clouds in Kalajun Grassland in Xinjiang's Yili Valley.

On the same day, after rain and snow, another rare sea of clouds appeared in the Hualong Mountain Scenic Area of Zhenping County in Shaanxi. Hualong Mountain, 2,917 meters above the sea level, is the second main peak of the Daba Mountain Range. Under a clear blue sky, clouds stretched as far as the eye could see, rolling and rising majestically.

A similar scene, but together with some beautiful rime, was filmed over the Huashan Mountain in Shaanxi. After snow, cloud and thick mist shrouded most parts of the mountain, with trees covered by white rime, creating a picturesque wonderland.
