Russian President Vladimir Putin said China-Russia relations are a model of harmonious and creative cooperation between major powers, in a signed article published on Monday in China's People's Daily newspaper.
In the article, Putin said he looks forward to his talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is paying a state visit to Russia from Monday to Wednesday, adding that their upcoming talks will inject new powerful impetus to bilateral cooperation.
President Xi's visit is of great significance, Putin said in the article, adding that it once again proves that the Russia-China partnership is unique and has always been based on mutual trust and respect for each other's sovereignty and interests.
Over the past decade, the solid friendship between China and Russia has continued strengthening, bringing benefits to the two countries and their peoples, the article said.
The relationship between the two countries has progressed amazingly, reaching an all-time high and continuing to strengthen, it said, adding that the two countries has established trustful political dialogue, which is a comprehensive strategic collaboration in the new era.
It said Russia and China are always committed to building a regional and global security system of equality, openness, inclusiveness and non-targeting of third countries.
Based on the strategic choices of the two peoples, the friendship and partnership between the two countries will continue to grow and prosper, Putin said in the article.
