China's democracy is rooted in its history and culture

Over the past hundred years, the Communist Party of China has led Chinese people in the exploration and practice of democracy, adopting Marxism and eventually applying it flexibly to the country. In the special program, "Democracy: A common value for all humanity," Zhang Baijia, a former deputy director of the Party History Research Center, says democracy must be viewed together with the history and culture of China.
