Core of China's democracy: The good of all people
01:51

Is democracy one-size-fits-all? In "Democracy: A common value for humanity," John Ross, a senior fellow of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China, says in the West, the so-called formal political system is completely subverted because the United States is really controlled by money. It's not "one person, one vote" in the real sense. Swiss scholar Beat Schneider thinks there's more democracy in China than in Western countries because the Chinese system has democratic institutions and people's congresses at different levels.
