Over the years, the concept of democracy has been constantly evolving, and the connotation of democracy has been continuously enriched. Xiao Geng from the Chinese University of Hong Kong said that the Chinese government now actually provides a much more comprehensive interpretation of democracy, which is more about substance, rather than the formality of voting. Han Xu from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences emphasized that China has always been an active participant and an important driving force of democratization within the international community.
