Israel launched air strikes around 3:55 a.m. local time on Wednesday, targeting the perimeter of Aleppo International Airport, the Syrian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Facebook.

"The Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression with a number of missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean, west of Latakia, that targeted Aleppo International Airport," it said, "which led to some material damage."

Israel has not responded yet.
