As many as 85 percent of respondents in five global surveys conducted by CGTN Think Tank praise the concept of "a community with a shared future for mankind" while 94.2 percent of them appreciate China-proposed values of "peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom" for all mankind.

More than 20,000 people from over 40 countries including the United States, Germany, Japan, South Africa and Kenya were surveyed.

Chinese President Xi Jinping first put forth with the notion of "a community with a shared future for mankind" in his 2013 speech at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

"Mankind, by living in the same global village within the same time and space where history and reality meet, have increasingly emerged as a community of common destiny in which everyone has in himself a little bit of others," Xi said.

It has been exactly 10 years since the vision of "a community with a shared future for mankind" was first proposed.

Nowadays, the destiny of all mankind is increasingly intertwined amid the complex international situation with accelerating evolution of the century-old changes, sluggish global economy and constant geopolitical conflicts.

Over the past decade, the meaning of "a community with a shared future for mankind" has been gradually enriched. China and many developing countries have strengthened friendly exchanges and cooperation, building a bilateral community of shared future.

According to the survey, the concept of justice and interests advocated by Chinese leaders in international interactions – "upholding justice while pursuing shared interests, promoting faith, friendship, justice and morality" – wins praise from 57.04 percent of the global respondents, and 23.08 percent of them fully supporting it.

In addition, 84.1 percent of the global respondents laud China's cooperation proposition of "respecting different countries' development paths and system differences," and 84.2 percent hail China's stand of "firmly opposing hegemonism and power politics in any form."

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), a vivid manifestation of the vision of "a community with a shared future for mankind," has become a popular platform for international cooperation and an international public product.

Up to now, China has signed cooperation documents with 151 countries and 32 international organizations.

A total of 84.13 percent of the global respondents from countries in the China-proposed BRI are very confident in China's opening-up, and 64.7 percent of the respondents from developing countries expect China's high-level opening up to inject new impetus into the recovery of the world economy.

Over the past decade, China has been upholding the vision of "a community with a shared future for mankind" and reflecting its responsibility with practical actions.

According to the survey, more than 85 percent of respondents speak highly of China's contribution to the global defenses against the COVID-19 and to the building of a community of human health.

Over the past decade, China has always been committed to safeguarding world peace, contributing to global development, and upholding the international order, providing China's wisdom and solutions to the reform and development of the global governance system.

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China explicitly set out China's foreign policy goal of safeguarding world peace and promoting common development, and reaffirmed China's commitment to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

With the increasingly rich connotations, China's vision of "a community with a shared future for mankind" is expected to gain wider global resonance and bear more fruitful results in practice.
