Lunar occultation of Venus refers to the moon orbiting between Earth and Venus. Since the moon is closer to Earth than Venus, when the three are lined up in a straight line, the moon will pass in front of Venus and block it from our sight.
Today's lunar occultation of Venus can be seen from most of the areas in the south of the Yellow River Basin, while the next same view in China will not be visible until the evening of September 26, 2026. So let's enjoy this rare cosmic spectacle!
