China has restarted to issue all types of visas to foreigners, which means all COVID-19 visa restrictions are lifted and all foreigners can apply for a China visa as before. Our reporter You Yang visited Beijing Daxing International Airport to talk to Chinese airlines about their plans to increase flights.

YOU YANG Beijing "China has reopened its borders to tourists and resumed issuing all visas as it tries to revive tourism, and Chinese airports are ready again to welcome international travelers."

"For me I will go to Shanghai, Guangzhou, and other cities for my next trips."

"I brought my son to Beijing for traveling. Currently it's very convenient to move around. I hope to bring him to travel abroad during his summer vocation. Thailand will be among one of our destinations."

LI NING Senior Police Officer, Entry & Exit Border Inspection Station Beijing Daxing International Airport "We will continue to optimize the customs clearance process at Beijing Daxing International Airport. We will facilitate the traveling for people holding APEC business travel cards or people coming from the Belt and Road countries. For other foreign travelers, we will also strengthen our guidance to help them quickly pass the customs clearance process."

Authorities say visa-free entry also will resume at destinations such as Hainan island as well as for cruise ships entering Shanghai that had no visa requirement before the COVID-19 pandemic.

And Chinese airlines say they are ready to welcome more international travelers.

ZHENG YUE Vice President, Northern Marketing Center China Southern Airlines "In terms of international and regional flights, China Southern Airlines is going to open flights from Beijing Daxing International Airport to Moscow starting from March 26. We will also resume our flights to Amsterdam and Gimpo. We are also planning to open new flight routes to London and Osaka in the future."

LI RUI Deputy General Manager, Transfer Service Division Beijing Ground Service Department, China Eastern Airlines "China Eastern Airlines is going to increase our flights number from Beijing Daxing International Airport to Hong Kong to one round-trip flight per day starting from next week. We are also planning to carry out more international flights. Passengers can know the new flights information according to our official release."

Experts say the new entry and exit policies are a significant change to mark China's full readiness for a return to normalcy from the COVID-19 pandemic.

And many believe the move will not only promote the flow of tourists, but also boost economic and trade exchanges. You Yang, CGTN, Beijing.
