EU leaders agree to fast-track electricity market reforms

European Union leaders agreed on Thursday to fast-track reforms that are meant to tame severe price spikes in the bloc's electricity market, such as those experienced last year after Russia cut gas supplies.
On Thursday, a summit of EU leaders in Brussels agreed that the reforms should be adopted "by the end of 2023."
