In an interview with CGTN anchor Xu Qinduo, Mushahid Hussain, chairman of the Pakistan Senate Defense Committee & Pakistan-China Institute, said that he was shocked by the divisiveness of the United States today – full of conflict, confrontation and polarization. This is due to the "political tribalism" embedded in its national system, which is not an inalienable part of democracy. Rather, it is because of the malfunctioning of democracy in the United States that serves only a small group of Western interests and reflects a narrow political interest.
