As many as 88.1 percent of respondents in a global poll appreciated China's achievements in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, and the figure is as high as 93.4 percent among respondents from Asian, African and Latin American countries.
A total of 2,101 people from 21 countries were surveyed in the poll conducted by CGTN Think Tank.
The poll result also showed China has won worldwide respect for the high efficiency in its coordination of anti-pandemic measures with economic and social development in the three-year battle against COVID-19.
Malcolm Clarke, a documentary filmmaker from the United Kingdom, said: "The world should see what China is trying to do and how China takes responsibility for its people in a way that is different from other countries."
Clarke, who has lived in China for the past three years, said he is "a beneficiary of China's efforts to protect the lives and health of its people."
From 10 editions of China's plans for COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment to "20 Measures" and "10 New Measures" to optimize anti-pandemic measures, then to the "Class B infectious disease with Class B management," China has closely tracked virus variations and continuously upgraded anti-pandemic policies.
According to the poll, 71.6 percent of the global respondents fully appreciate China's dynamic adjustment of anti-pandemic policies.
With respect to China's preparations before implementing the policy of "Class B infectious disease with Class B management," such as opening fever clinics to meet every need, increasing the number of ICU beds, and ensuring timely admission of patients with severe and critical conditions, respondents who consider these measures to be positive and effective are 76.2 percent worldwide and as high as 82.5 percent in Asian, African and Latin American countries.
China has also engaged in active international cooperation to fight the pandemic.
In the past three years, China has supplied more than 2.2 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines to over 120 countries and international organizations, hundreds of billions of respirators, protective clothing, and masks to 153 countries and 15 international organizations. In addition, China has sent 37 teams of medical experts to 34 countries to unreservedly share its anti-pandemic experience.
According to the poll, 85.2 percent of global respondents highly appreciate China's contribution to the global battle against the pandemic.
Over the past three years, China has withstood pressure and efficiently coordinated its anti-pandemic measures with economic and social development, achieving an average economic growth rate of about 4.5 percent.
According to the poll, respondents who are fully positive about China's efficient coordination of anti-pandemic measures with economic and social development are 86.8 percent worldwide and as high as 91.7 percent in Asian, African and Latin American countries. Besides, 74.7 percent of respondents in Western countries highly appreciate China's economic achievements.
To combat the pandemic over the past three years, China's policies have proven to be consistent with national conditions, tested in practice, and effective with the lowest comprehensive social cost, injecting more confidence and momentum into global governance and economic recovery in the post-pandemic era.
According to the poll, 76.23 percent of global respondents believe that China's economy will inject confidence and strength into the sluggishly recovering world economy, and 84.3 percent of respondents expect China to play a greater role in global economic governance.
Last week, several international agencies raised their forecasts for China's economic growth. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development forecasts China's economic growth in 2023 at 5.3 percent. Goldman Sachs has raised its forecast for China's GDP growth in 2023 from 5.5 percent to 6 percent.
All three major international credit rating agencies have unanimously raised their forecasts for China's economic growth.
With the adjustment of China's anti-pandemic policies in January, China's economy is witnessing a strong rebound.
