Expert: U.S., UK did not learn lessons from use of depleted uranium in Iraq War

Tons of depleted uranium bombs, created by the U.S., were dropped in Serbia and Iraq, causing what's called the Gulf War syndrome. A 2022 UN Environment Program report warns depleted uranium use can cause "skin irritation, kidney failure and increase risks of cancer." Now the UK is providing depleted uranium weapons to Ukraine. Professor Wang Jin, a specialist in Middle East Studies at China's Northwest University, says the U.S. and UK do not learn their lessons from the use of depleted uranium during the Iraq War.
