Leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba endorsed the Global Civilization Initiative, which was proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting via video link on March 15.
Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Cuban president, and Emilio Lozada Garcia, head of the Department of International Relations of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, both stressed the importance of the initiative for future development.
They said that coexistence and mutual learning among civilizations will propel mankind to new heights of understanding, tolerance and development.
Titled "Join Hands on the Path Towards Modernization," Xi said in his keynote address that the initiative aims to promote modernization worldwide through mutual learning of human civilizations, and stresses the need to advocate respect for the diversity of world civilizations, following the principles of equality and shared benefit of all parties.
According to Xi, the initiative also aims to advocate the common values of humanity, the importance of inheritance and innovation of civilizations, and robust international people-to-people exchanges and cooperation.
