The Swiss government announced on March 19 that Credit Suisse, the country's second largest bank, will be taken over by the other Swiss banking giant, UBS, to restore trust in the global banking system. Swiss economist Philippe Monnier told CMG that the Credit Suisse crisis poses questions for the global financial system to ponder before figuring out what can be done to prevent such cases in the future.
