Myanmar's election commission announced Tuesday that Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy (NLD) party would be dissolved for failing to re-register under a new electoral law, state media reported.
In a nightly news bulletin, Myawaddy TV announced that 40 political parties, including NLD, had not signed up to the election law and were therefore automatically disbanded.
