The new Chinese Ambassador to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Wang Yajun arrived in the country on Monday, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
"We believe Ambassador Wang Yajun will play an important role in promoting the development of traditional friendly and cooperative relations between China and the DPRK," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told reporters at a regular press briefing on Tuesday.
Noting China and the DPRK are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, Mao pointed out in recent years, under the strategic leadership of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, bilateral ties have entered a new historical period and continued to move forward.
