With smart technologies facilitating spring farming, more than 36,700 square kilometers of grain have been sown so far across China.

Farmers in Guangshan County of central China's Henan Province use fully automatic intelligent seedling and breeding machines to ensure that each layer of seedlings receive sufficient sunlight.

"Compared with traditional seedlings, the seedlings bred by intelligent seedling factories are straight and grow to the same height, strong, and have a high survival rate, and the seedlings grow well in the recent low temperature weather," said Liu Zhengli, director of Rice Specialized Cooperative in Guangshan County.

In Qing'an County of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, more than 20 intelligent germination workshops are operating in an orderly manner. Those workshops can realize the intelligent control of seed cleaning, processing, coating and soaking.

In the Deyang Guanghan National Grain Production Demonstration Zone of southwest China's Sichuan Province, a field weather station, a soil moisture monitoring station and an Internet of Things monitoring system were built in order to realize the automatic monitoring and analysis of the temperature, humidity and rainfall of the farmland environment.

"At present, we have built nearly 30 ground meteorological stations of various types throughout the city, realizing all-weather remote monitoring of climatic conditions for agricultural production, which have enabled farmers to exercise remote control," said Luo Jianfei, senior engineer of the Guanghan Meteorological Bureau of Sichuan Province.
