The Qingming Bridge Cultural Block is located in Nanchang District of Wuxi in eastern Jiangsu. Wuxi is considered a cradle of modern commerce and industry in China. It also serves as an important node of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In January 2022, the block was recognized as one of China's national-level tourism and leisure areas.

The block got its name from Qingming bridge, another must-see part of any visitor's itinerary. According to historical records, the bridge was built more than 3,200 years ago as a part of the ancient canal. Later, it was connected to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and became an important part of the waterway connecting North and South China. Economic activities in this area gradually prospered with the canal, reaching their peak during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Other than the bridge, the Qingming Bridge Cultural Block boasts an array of cultural heritage sites, such as the China Silk Industry Museum and the Wuxi Kiln Museum. Many of the surrounding ancient buildings have been converted into guesthouses, bookstores, galleries, shops and bars, offering both classical characteristics and modern styles.

A key highlight of the block is its night tours, which are very popular among tourists. Statistics show the area received 2.64 million visitors in 2021, with three-quarters arriving in the evening.

People can enjoy night markets, delicious local treats, boat rides to admire the city's night views, and theatrical performances. They can also indulge themselves in the world of literature at local bookstores, or simply just stroll along the brick roads running beside the ancient canal.

The Qingming Bridge Cultural Block has become a cultural hot spot for "night owls" while attracting more people to enjoy Chinese culture under the moonlight.
