Ban Ki-moon, former UN Secretary-General, urged developed countries to fulfill their commitments to sustainable development at the Boao Forum for Asia on Tuesday.
He emphasized the importance of realizing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, and supporting developing countries in achieving these goals.
Ban pointed out that developed countries from the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development are primarily responsible for global warming and the $100 billion yearly support promised for developing countries must be provided. He insisted that countries honor their commitments in order to secure a sustainable future.
