The 2023 China Development Forum signals that the long-term positive fundamentals of China's economy remain unchanged and will continue to provide momentum and certainty for the world economy, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday at a press conference.
China will adhere to the new development concept, build a new development pattern and provide new opportunities for the world with China's new development, she added. China remains committed to further opening up, which will provide a broader market space and a better business environment for all countries, she continued.
The most talked-about topic during this annual meeting was cooperation, and the highest expectation was a win-win situation. "We are willing to work together with all parties to continue to write a new chapter of open cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win situation," she said.
Recently, senior executives of transnational enterprises arrived in China for the forum. Some netizens commented that the welcome which foreign companies have received from Chinese government, enterprises and the general public is in sharp contrast to the siege that TikTok and other Chinese enterprises have faced in the United States.
The U.S. should effectively respect the principles of market economy and fair competition, stop unreasonably suppressing other countries' enterprises, and provide an open, fair, just and non-discriminatory business environment for enterprises of all countries, Mao responded.
