"We urge the U.S. Congress to abide by the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, act on the commitment made by the U.S. government of not supporting 'Taiwan independence', and immediately stop deliberation on relevant bills," said Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, on Wednesday.
