Adderall is a prescription drug typically used to treat conditions such as Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Some U.S. college students often use it to increase focus and productivity. According to a survey by Ohio State University in 2022, of 6,510 undergraduate, graduate and professional students from 15 institutions across the U.S., nearly one in six college students had used stimulants like Adderall, Ritalin or Dexedrine normally prescribed for ADHD for non-medical use, and 76 percent had used them to study.

CGTN stringers talked to some students from Oakland University in Detroit about their views on the abuse of this prescription medication on U.S. campuses.
