Four policemen were killed and six others injured in two coordinated attacks on police in Pakistan's northwestern Lakki Marwat district in the wee hours of Thursday, a police spokesperson said.
Some unknown attackers stormed a check post with sophisticated weapons in the district located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, injuring five policemen in an exchange of fire, the spokesperson said.
The deputy superintendent of police Iqbal Mohmand's vehicle was attacked by a roadside bomb when he was on the way to the check post after receiving information regarding the attack, killing four officers inside and critically injuring the driver, the spokesperson added.
No group has claimed the attacks yet.
