At least 13 people were killed after a temple roof collapsed in India, local media India Today reported on Thursday, as a rescue operation continues.
The incident happened on the day of the Ram Navami festival when the temple was witnessing a huge rush of devotees.
The worshipers plunged into the stepwell - a stair-lined communal water source - after the floor covering it collapsed in the central city of Indore.
Early reports said 19 people were rescued, two of them later died of injuries. Several others are still feared trapped in the stepwell.
"The State Government is spearheading rescue and relief work at a quick pace. My prayers with all those affected and their families," Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.
