As one of the world's largest biotechnology companies, the roots of BioMerieux stretch all the way to China. The Merieux family is an "old friend" of China. In the 1920s, there was a famous Sino-France institute based in Lyon which attracted a lot of Chinese students at the time. Marcel Merieux was the sponsor of this institute. CGTN's Melody Zhang interviewed Wang Haofeng, the chairman of BioMerieux China, on his thoughts about the friendship between China and France.
