Tornadoes sow destruction across northeastern U.S.
01:44

Residents across a wide swath of the U.S., from the South and Midwest to the Northeast, are assessing the destruction sown by fierce storms that spawned possibly dozens of tornadoes that have killed at least 32 people.

The National Weather Service confirmed on April 2 that a tornado was responsible for damage to several homes near Bridgeville, Delaware. One person was found dead inside a house heavily damaged on the night of April 1, with "widespread residential damage" across the western part of Sussex County, local police have reported.
