Chinese premier holds phone talks with Russian PM

Chinese Premier Li Qiang held a phone conversation with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Tuesday.

Li said that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' heads of state, China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era has maintained a high level of development.

He pointed out that China and Russia are committed to the principles of no-alliance, no-confrontation and non-targeting of any third party, mutual respect, mutual trust and mutual benefit, which not only promote respective national development and rejuvenation, but also uphold international fairness and justice, he said.

He noted that during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Russia, he and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin jointly drew up a blueprint for the development of bilateral relations and charted a new course for cooperation between the two countries.

Li expressed China's willingness to work closely with Russia, and urged the government departments of both countries to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state to push forward the practical cooperation between China and Russia to achieve new development.

For his part, Mishustin said that Russia-China relations are based on international law and the principle of pluralism, which is an important factor in ensuring global peace and stability.

He noted that relations between Russia and China are at their highest level in history, and President Xi's successful visit to Russia was a complete success, opening a new chapter in bilateral ties.

Russia cherishes its comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation with China, he said, adding that his country is ready to strengthen good-neighborly friendship with China, deepen practical cooperation in various fields and promote common development of both sides.
