Luo Qingping, chairman of the China Institute of Nuclear Industry Strategy, says in an interview that the Japanese government's plan to discharge Fukushima nuclear-contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean would release radionuclides that would accumulate through the marine food chain and may lead to chronic radiation sickness and other diseases after long-term consumption of such seafood.
