At least one person was killed and 30 injured, many of them seriously, in a passenger train derailment near The Hague, Netherlands. According to Dutch emergency services, the train, which was carrying approximately 50 people, collided with construction equipment on the tracks early Tuesday morning.
Rescue teams were seen transporting the injured away from the scene of the accident at Voorschoten, a village near The Hague, in pre-dawn darkness. It is not yet known how serious those injuries are. Services on the busy rail link, which is used by trains running between Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris, have been suspended and will not resume until afternoon, according to rail officials.
