New power transmission line put into operation in SW China
00:52

China's State Grid has put into operation a 500-kilovolt Batang to Lancang River line, adding another 500-kilovolt transmission line between southwest China's Sichuan and Tibet. The 500 kV line project starts at Batang Substation in Sichuan Province and ends at Lancang River Substation in Tibet. Once it's operational, the power grids of the two regions will be able to support each other, ensuring that demand for electricity supply and clean energy development is met in central and eastern Tibet.
