Overseas Chinese protest Tsai's visits to Belize, Guatemala
CGTN

Two overseas Chinese organizations voiced their opposition in late March to Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen's plan to visit two Central American countries of Guatemala and Belize, saying the visits would seriously undermine the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation.

Tsai's act would constitute a grave violation of the one-China principle and a serious infringement of the political basis for the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, according to separate statements issued by the Belizean Council for the Promotion of Peace Reunification of China and the All China Federation of Overseas Taishanese.

The two organizations strongly condemned the secessionist and "Taiwan independence" forces for seriously damaging the fundamental interests of the entire Chinese nation.

Tsai not only visited Guatemala and Belize last week, but also "transited" through the U.S. on March 29 during her trip.
