China's local fitness market is booming. One company taking advantage of the boom is Decathlon, a leading international sports goods retailer and manufacturer from France. Decathlon launched its business in China in 1989, and in the decades since, the world's leading sporting goods retailer has grown together with the Chinese market. This year, Decathlon launched a new strategy for China, establishing itself as a brand leader centered on the idea of "happy sports". The company sees China as its most important market and has committed to developing products that respond to local fitness trends. CGTN spoke with Pascal Bizard, the company's Senior Vice President for China, to gain insights on its rise in China.
