When people in Europe chose to learn Chinese or travel to China a few years ago, it was seen as a positive thing. However, in recent years, those people have been regarded as potential "Chinese agents."
In an interview with CGTN reporter Li Jingjing, a member of the European Parliament, Clare Daly, pointed out the shift of narratives in Europe towards China.
Lacking an understanding of each other's cultures would be a major obstacle for people from China and European countries to interact and properly understand one another. She believes that by continuing to boost the cultural exchanges between these two regions, we can strengthen EU-China relations.
