In Los Angeles, where Tsai Ing-wen met with U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, protesters gathered to voice their concerns.

Outside the venue where they met, protesters rallied against any infringement on peace and damage to China-U.S. relations, some holding signs with slogans reading "No new cold war!" Other protesters said Tsai was not welcome because she would bring only harm to China-U.S. relations.
