Taiwan region's leader Tsai Ing-wen met U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy during her "transit" trip through the U.S. on April 5. On the one side, Tsai is leaning on the U.S. to seek so-called "Taiwan independence," while on the other, McCarthy is taking advantage of her as a pawn to contain China. Their meeting is a de facto sneaky political deal behind the scenes as they both intend to make political gains.
