Chinese, French companies sign 18 cooperation agreements

Thirty-six companies from China and France signed 18 cooperation agreements on Thursday at the fifth meeting of the China-France Business Council. 

French President Emmanuel Macron attended the meeting as part of his three-day visit to China.

During the meeting, Chinese and French business representatives discussed jointly tackling global challenges and promoting prosperity and development through cooperation. The representatives put forward suggestions on deepening China-France economic and trade cooperation.

The participants expressed their wishes to seize new opportunities presented by China in promoting high-quality development. They also pledged to jointly maintain the stability of industrial and supply chains between the two countries, as well as in Europe.

The 18 cooperation agreements inked at the signing ceremony spanned areas including green development, innovation, aviation and new energy. 

The participants also discussed ways to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in nuclear energy, pharmaceutical, finance, agriculture, consumption and rail transportation industries at the meeting.
