There is no reason to compare Taiwan to Ukraine. It’s part of “the U.S. grand strategy of using Taiwan as a cue ball to irk China,” says Joanna Lei, a former legislator in Taiwan's Kuomintang Party. "We have to work really hard within Taiwan so that the foreign forces, especially from the United States and Japan, will not push us into a war," she adds.
