The largest exhibition of consumer products in the Asia-Pacific region gets underway on April 10 in south China. It's the first time the trade fair is being held since China ended COVID pandemic restrictions last year. Italy is the guest country of honor with 147 brands participating. CGTN caught up with one of the exhibitors in the southern city of Zhongshan before they set out for the event. Officials say the event has proven to be a catalyst for foreign investment in Hainan, set to operate as an independent customs zone by the end of 2025. These developments are expected to further unlock China's spending power and expand the country's overseas economic engagement.
