The Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) is continuing its drills around Taiwan Island. The three-day combat readiness patrol and military exercises were launched on April 8. Dozens of early warning and reconnaissance aircraft, bombers and fighters were deployed to target airspace for a joint strike system.
