It's harvest season for various tropical fruits in Sanya, Hainan. In recent years, Sanya mango has not only been favored by domestic consumers, but has also been exported overseas to places such as Canada, Singapore, and the United States. Shao Peng reports.

This mango plantation in Sanya is beaming with abundance. And these skilled workers are busy as ripe fruit is ready for picking, packing and transporting.

The conditions in this southern Chinese city are perfect for growing mangoes. The temperature is suitable, sunlight is sufficient and the precipitation level is ideal.

Currently Sanya mangoes have a planting area of more than 24,000 hectares, with an annual output value of nearly six billion yuan, or around 873 million U.S. dollars, which has helped boost farmers' income in the region.

SU JINGREN Director, Sanya Fufan Mango Base "There is a bountiful harvest this year, with one hectare of land producing approximately 37,500 kilograms of mangoes. In March, we exported about 1,000 kilograms of mangoes to the United States and Toronto, Canada, and we will further expand to overseas markets."

PENG SHIDUN President, Sanya Mango Association "In recent years, we have exported mangoes to more than ten countries and regions such as Canada and the European Union. This year, we are mainly promoting three major mango varieties produced in Sanya, which have become popular products online."

Every year, over 500,000 tons of high-quality tropical fruits are sold from Sanya to over 100 cities and regions in China, and exported to overseas markets such as Singapore, Canada, and Germany.

The total annual sales amount is nearly eight billion yuan, or around 1.16 million U.S. dollars.

The city will focus on creating high-quality and reputable tropical fruit brands, and continuously enhance the fruits' influence and competitiveness. Shao Peng, Sansha Satellite TV in Hainan for CGTN.
