On the western slope of the Greater Hinggan Mountains, snow and ice still prevail in April, but the breeding season of a species has begun. The eyebrow patterns of the male black grouse change, swelling and turning crimson. For them, the new season is a time to fight for love.
About 'Journeys in Nature': Eastern Inner Mongolia Series
The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is located in the north of China, with a total area of 664,900 square kilometers, adjacent to the three northeastern provinces—Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Jilin, and bordering Russia and Mongolia in the north. In this series, we will embark on a journey of Hulunbuir Grassland, Xilingol Grassland, primeval forests, wetlands and the lovely creatures living there.
