Mounting picket lines outside hospitals, junior doctors across England began a four-day strike on Tuesday in a dispute over pay.

The British Medical Association earlier demanded a 35-percent pay raise for junior doctors to make up for 15 years of below-inflation wage raises, but Health Secretary Steve Barclay said last Saturday the demand was "unrealistic" and out of step with pay settlements in other parts of the public sector.
