Every April, ancient Chinese fringetrees in Sangling Village, Jianchuan County, southwest China's Yunnan Province, embrace a grand bloom. Clouds of eye-catching white flowers resemble an April snow falling on the tree.

The ancient trees in Sangling Village are one of the eight famous landscapes in Jianchuan County of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, mainly consisting of Chinese pistache, Chinese fringetree and Nilgiri elm. There are 49 Chinese fringetrees in the village. Among them, the oldest Chinese fringetree here is about 690 years old, at a height of 10 meters.

In Bai language, the flower of Chinese fringetree is called "gulu flower." In other places, it is also named sticky rice flower or noodle flower.
