Syria decided to reopen its embassy in Tunisia and appoint an ambassador after the North African country announced the appointment of a new ambassador to Damascus, the two countries said in a joint statement on Wednesday, according to Syrian state media SANA.
They expressed their "keenness to restore the Syrian-Tunisian relations to their normal track," after 10-plus years of frozen diplomatic ties.
