UK junior doctors begin four-day strike for higher pay
01:18

Tens of thousands of junior doctors in England have walked off the job for a four-day strike starting from April 11, which may lead to cancellations of an estimated 350,000 scheduled appointments including operations.

It has been billed as the most disruptive strike in the health service's history, in a dispute over pay and working conditions.

The new wave of strikes will have a significant impact on the country's hospital operations as junior doctors, typically the kind of doctors who are still in the first years of their careers, make up about half of all doctors in England's National Health Service.
