The 21-year-old Jack Teixeira, a member of the U.S. Air Force National Guard suspected of leaking highly classified military intelligence records, made his initial appearance before a federal judge in Boston on Friday.
Teixeira has been charged with unauthorized detention and transmission of national defense information, as well as unauthorized removal of classified information and defense materials, according to CNN.
He has been detained pending a detention hearing which is set for April 19, the U.S. attorney's office in the district of Massachusetts tweeted.
