The Shangxiahang Cultural Historical Block is located in Fuzhou, Fujian. The district covers an area of over 30 hectares and is situated in the central urban area of the provincial capital.
The block is a national 3A-level tourist attraction and was included on the list of national-level tourist areas in 2022.
Known for its well-preserved traditional architecture and strong cultural heritage, it comprises over 300 ancient houses, temples, and other historic structures dating back to the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
The block used to be the commercial center and shipping terminal of Fuzhou and has been dubbed the "Fuzhou Traditional Commercial Museum."

The district is home to several well-known landmarks, such as Gutian Guild Hall and Yongde Guild Hall, among others. These are historic buildings that served as meeting places for merchants in former eras.

Recently, the archaic appearance of Shangxiahang, which has been protected and restored, has undergone a vintage makeover, to build on the legacy put in place by prosperous Fujian merchants over the past 100 years and attract more tourists to the city.
The Shangxiahang block is also known for its lively evening street markets and local cuisine. It is also the best area to taste traditional gourmet food in Fuzhou.

Visitors can enjoy a range of traditional snacks at night, such as Fuzhou fish balls, oyster omelets, and fried rice noodles.
Decked out in bright lights at night, Fuzhou Shangxiahang Historical and Cultural Block is expected to further boost the city's economic and social development, while also preserving these ancient heritage buildings so they can be enjoyed by future generations.
