Senior Chinese diplomat Wang Yi met with Celso Amorim, the Brazilian government's top foreign policy advisor, in Beijing on Thursday. The meeting came ahead of expected talks in Beijing between Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Wang said the talks between the leaders of Brazil and China would open a new chapter in bilateral relations, and bring about significant changes to their countries and the world. Wang noted that China and Brazil are members of the BRICS group of countries, and said China is willing to deepen cooperation among BRICS members in various fields, improve their influence, and promote reforms of global governance.
