Thomas Tuchel, manager of Bundesliga's Bayern Munich, called the argument between his players, Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane, following the club's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, a case closed at a press conference on Friday.
Bayern suffered one of their biggest losses in the first-leg game of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals against Man City at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday. After the competition had ended, the two argued before Mane punched Sane in the face. Sane had a cut lip as a result. Mane was fined and will be suspended from the coming Bundesliga game against Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
"I am his first lawyer and his first defender. I've known him for so long, and I know his entourage," Tuchel said of Mane at the press conference. "He has my full support. He had that before, and he still has it after this mistake that he has made. Everyone has the right to make a mistake. It went against the team's code of conduct. That's clear."

Both Mane and Sane have been dealing with difficulties recently. Mane lost his starting position since he returned from the injury that cost him the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year. Sane has been benched for several big games.
Mane apologized to everyone involved in the row, according to Tuchel. "It was important that it was cleared quickly. That had a cleansing effect. It was important that he remained in training even if he has this one-match ban. Because we had to deal with it and it was a blatant incident, we had to clear it before the next training," the manager said. "We did it yesterday. We cleared the air so we can train in a positive way. We are not the first and most likely not the last for it to happen to."
Bayern have not been in their best form recently. Before losing to Man City in the Champions League, they were knocked out by Freiburg from DFB-Pokal in the quarterfinals on April 5. The German giants currently lead the Bundesliga with 58 points, two above the following Borussia Dortmund with seven games to go.
